Most general speech-recognition models are optimised for Standard German and often struggle with Swiss dialects. LocalTranscript includes a model dedicated to Swiss German speech.
It runs on your computer, separates speakers and turns spoken Swiss German into readable written Standard German you can search, quote and export.

Recording, transcription, speaker separation, voiceprints and summaries all run on this machine. The few connections the app can make are documented, logged and blockable.
- Meeting audio, transcripts and voiceprints have no upload path by default.
- Hard Offline Mode blocks external requests. Local connections and explicitly allowed administrative hosts are exceptions.
- The in-app network log lets you inspect requests handled by the network guard and export the audit as JSON.
- Cloud is opt-in: connect your own provider if you want one, including Infomaniak in Switzerland.

What do I need to run it?
A supported desktop computer, disk space for the app and models, and an internet connection for initial downloads. After setup, local transcription and AI can run offline. Speed depends on your hardware and selected models. Check the download page for platform requirements and installer availability.
Does Swiss German stay in dialect?
The dedicated Swiss German model produces written Standard German, rather than a phonetic dialect transcript. Review names, technical terms and overlapping speech against the recording.
What would my organization pay for?
The complete local app is permanently free, including local AI. Organizations can request a quote for deployment, configuration, training and support. There is no required subscription to use the local features.
