1. Who we are
LocalTranscript is made by Jenzer Innovations, Basel, Switzerland (full details on the imprint). These terms govern your use of the app and this website. Reach us any time at hello@localtranscript.com.
2. The licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app:
- Free — use the free version on as many of your own machines as you like, for as long as you like.
- Pro — a paid subscription that unlocks the Pro features on the machines covered by your licence key.
- Custom MSI — a branded, pre-configured build licensed for the seat count you purchase.
You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app, or attempt to bypass the licensing or activation.
3. Licence keys & activation
A Pro licence is tied to a key. When you enter it, the app makes an activation request to confirm the key and seat count, and re-checks the licence roughly once a day while it's active. Exactly what those requests contain is described on our Privacy and Security pages. Keep your key confidential — you're responsible for activity under it.
4. Payment, renewals & refunds
Pro is billed monthly or yearly and renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time; access continues to the end of the paid period. Custom MSI builds are billed once. Prices are in CHF and shown before you pay, exclusive of any applicable tax.
If you're not satisfied, email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
5. Your content stays yours
Your recordings, transcripts, notes, and everything you create with the app are yours. They live on your machine — we don't receive, store, or claim any rights to them. See Privacy for the details.
6. Acceptable use
Use the app lawfully. You are responsible for having the right to record and transcribe the conversations you process, including obtaining consent where the law requires it. Don't use the app to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights.
7. Intellectual property
The app, this website, and our branding belong to us and our licensors. The licence above doesn't transfer any ownership. Some components are provided under their own open-source licences.
8. Warranty & liability
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data; back up your work. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version; continued use after a change means you accept it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the competent Swiss courts.
